Support EADR: Save Dogs in Urgent Need
Over the past several months, we have encountered a tremendous number of dogs in need of rescue. The sense of urgency in finding space and funds is something EADR has not felt in our 10 years of existence. We have had to limit our intake and find ways to cut back our expenses. Our mission has always been to invest fully in every dog we rescue. We refuse to succumb to those who feel we should euthanize for behavior or medical issues, but rather provide them with medical treatment, training, and a safe haven until they find their forever home. Even our long-timers are provided with compassion, care, shelter, food, and most importantly, love. Rescue dogs each have a unique story of hope and resilience, who, in spite of knowing only pain and sadness, harbor nothing but joy and love. At EADR, we stand for every life that has lost hope. There is power in believing in making lives whole!

But we cannot help these lives without your support.

Save Little Pepper: Urgent Surgery Needed

Little Pepper has a birth defect that is slowly killing him. Surgery can repair this defect if we can raise the funds soon.

A letter from Pepper’s veterinarian:

Pepper has scoliosis, and radiographs reveal a Vascular Ring Anomaly, also referred to as a PRAA (persistent right aortic arch), that causes a stricture around the esophagus and megaesophagus in front of the heart. This prevents food from moving into the stomach, leading to stunted growth, underweight, regurgitation, and possible secondary aspiration pneumonia in very young dogs and cats.

We discussed the treatment, which involves surgery (sometimes on both the left and right sides of the chest) to remove the stricture around the esophagus. The megaesophagus can then resolve as the kitten ages within 8 to 10 weeks post-op.

Until then, we feed a soft/liquid diet and hold Pepper in a vertical position to allow the food to move through the stricture and into the stomach. Also, we keep the kitten on antibiotics to prevent secondary pneumonia from aspiration.

Surgery must be scheduled soon in order to save him.

Rescue Urgently Needed for Boxer Mix Puppies
Please help sick Boxer mix puppies being kept in a garage with no air conditioning.

Update: as the puppies are transported to our veterinarian this morning, Intake will include testing & treatment of already known illness’s. Initially they will need blood tests, a series of three vaccinations, worm medication along with neuter & microchips. We won’t know what the vet will find until blood results and physical exams are completed.

We must meet our goal to give these puppies all the proper vetting they require. The family that has them has no means to help them, and they are very weak and in distress. We cannot wait any longer to bring them in. Our funds are extremely low at our rescue, but we must save them now. Even $1 is so appreciated in this terrible economy. Thank you!

Help Takeo Recover from Abandonment
How can humans allow an animal to suffer and turn their back like they did to little Takeo? She was rescued running alone in the Everglades Region of South Florida with only sight in one eye. Her body ravaged by mange, ticks and hundreds of fleas, it is a miracle she was found alive. She will need extensive medical treatment to bring her sad & broken spirit back to life. Please help little Takeo with critical veterinary care.

Support Cassidy's Pain Free Rehabilitation

Update On Cassidy: Unfortunately from years of torture & being tethered to a building on a four foot chain, Cassidy’s eyes and muscles suffered greatly. The ophthalmologist confirmed irreversible blindness from sun damage. He will need soothing eye medication twice a day for life. Cassidy also has severe muscle atrophy that causes him to fall. Treatment will be ongoing physical therapy and the new Labrella Arthritis injection monthly, as well as Synovia & Tri Cox joint chews. Also, after heaven knows what he ate to survive, Cassidy's digestive system lacks the ability to process normal dog food. He will need prescription Intestinal Diet for life. We beg for your help to right this terrible wrong as we commit to give Cassidy a pain free & happy future. Thank you!

Life for Cassidy was tragic. Cassidy was found tied on a short rope, abandoned in the Everglades Region of South Florida. Sun exposure has left him with very limited vision and he is deaf from excruciating ear infections. His muscles have atrophied from years of restricted movement and he has a serious infection in his hind leg, affecting his mobility.

Cassidy will require continued eye care to save what little sight that remains, treatments for multiple infections of ears, skin and bone, and physical therapy to rebuild his muscular strength. With your help, we can give Cassidy health & happiness in his senior years, that he never knew as a puppy.

Support Everglades Angels' AC Fund
Thank you Everyone for your support!! We reached our goal, the air conditioning is repaired and the sales to support the rescue dogs, at the thrift store were great today. All the volunteers of EADR thank you for making their volunteering a cool experience We are raising money to help the Everglades Angels Dog Rescue, Inc. thrift store, Treasures 4 Tales. It is run completely by volunteer’s. The thrift store supports the cost of rescue, vetting and boarding of the 50 dogs under our care and any future rescues. Its old air conditioning unit is broken and only blowing hot air. We need to replace the rooftop compressor and run capacitor as soon as we can raise the funds. Volunteer's and shoppers are walking out due to the unbearable heat. This is not a luxury but critical when temperatures will soon be in the high 90’s. Please help us continue to help the abandoned dogs in the Everglades of South Florida.
