Support Workers: Donate to Flushing Workers Center
The work we are currently doing and fundraising for is:
- Procuring protective gear for workers on the frontline, in particular, home care health workers.
- Helping workers who have lost their job (restaurant workers, delivery workers, nail salon workers, construction workers) with emergency funds for food and supplies.
Please donate any amount meaningful to you. Every amount counts.
Once you've donated, please sign this petition to demand the government provide disaster relief for working people, regardless of immigration status.
More about this fundraiser:
Procuring protective gear for workers deemed essential, in particular home care workers who are frontline healthcare workers, is vital. Their work is critical. Agencies are telling them to take protective measures but the lack of protective gear is leaving workers to fend for themselves. Ultimately, workers are being forced to put themselves at risk. Price gouging is also leaving workers behind.
We are purchasing and distributing masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer to workers who need it. We are also supporting workers who have lost their job due to coronavirus - restaurant workers, delivery workers, nail salon workers, construction workers, car service workers - with emergency funds for food and supplies.
Flushing Workers Center engages in multi-racial, multi-trade organizing to tackle the root causes of exploitation. Our organizing model emphasizes the leadership of those hardest hit by sweatshop conditions and regressive immigration policies. We aim to forge common ground among groups historically pitted against one another and establish an inclusive agenda for all working people.
Please donate and support frontline workers now.
