Food Bank of Delaware

This is the St Andrew's Men's Rowing Burpee challenge. Contestants will obtain sponsorships and complete as many Burpees as possible in five minutes. Each burpee will count for a certain amount of money at the discretion of the sponsor. The proceeds will go to the Food Bank of Delaware (FBD)

The Theta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta at the University of Delaware is raising money for The Food Bank of Delaware. During this uncertain time we are excited to be able to help the Newark and surrounding communities by donating directly to The Food Bank of Delaware. Please consider helping us reach our goal to assist people in need of feeding programs in the state of Delaware.

More information about Food Bank of Delaware, Inc. (Fbd): Our mission is to provide nutritious foods to Delawareans in need and facilitate long-term solutions to the problems of hunger and poverty through community education and advocacy. We work to achieve this by: *Providing low- and no-cost food to qualified feeding programs throughout the greater Delaware region; *Informing the greater Delaware community about hunger issues and food security; *Mobilizing support for anti-hunger efforts; *Training and empowering under- and unemployed individuals to fill needed positions within the food service industry; *Developing and implementing statewide nutrition programs to assist low-income families, individuals and children.

The Food Bank of Delaware distributes meals to more than 500 kids each day through our Summer Grab and Go program! Need has been higher than anticipated this summer, and funding is almost out! At this time, we will have to end the summer meal program - unless we raise an additional $30,000. 

Kids depend on these meals when school is not in session. Without this program, kids will not have access to nutritious meals until school starts! So we don't have to end the program early,  please help us raise the needed $30,000 to continue the program until August 26!
