Adele's Bat Mitzvah Project Fundraiser
In honor of my Bat Mitzvah I want to make a difference in my community by donating money to the Santa Barbara Foodbank.
This organization is important to me because they help a lot of people get food who do not have access to it. From a young age I began donating money to the Santa Barbara Foodbank. When I was younger Leorah and I held brownie and lemonade stands to raise money to donate to the Foodbank. During COVID-19 we picked oranges in our backyard and donated them to the Foodbank.
When we went to deliver the money we raised to the Santa Barbara Foodbank we learned that one dollar donated to the Foodbank equals eight meals. They are a nonprofit that gives about 10 million pounds of food to people every year. The Foodbank provides food to a variety of people. It helps kids, families, single people, and seniors. 35% of those served by the Foodbank are children. One in four people in Santa Barbara County annually receives food support through one of the Foodbanks 300 programs and partners.
Due to COVID-19 more people have become food insecure. The Foodbank has helped individuals and families who have lost their jobs and don't have enough money to buy food. The Foodbank has delivered food to seniors and they have drive throughs so people can pick up food. This helps people because they can stay safe, be healthy, and reduce hunger.
I want to support the Santa Barbara Foodbank because they continue to help our community make sure everyone has food. My goal is to raise $1800. In addition to the money I raise, I will donate 10% of the monetary gifts I receive to the Santa Barbara Foodbank. Please help me reach my goal. No donation is too small.
Thank You!
