Why We Need Your Help

Hammers Rugby Club does not have a dedicated pitch or storage space, meaning we rely on limited resources to operate. Our cargo trailer serves as storage for our gear, and we constantly face challenges in securing proper equipment, travel expenses, and field rental costs. Your generous donations will directly support:

New Equipment & Training Gear – Ensuring our athletes have safe and up-to-date gear to compete at their best.

Field & Facility Costs – Covering rental fees so our teams have a place to train and compete.

Youth Development Programs – Expanding opportunities for young athletes to learn and grow through the sport of rugby.

Travel & Competition Fees – Helping our teams participate in tournaments and travel for games, giving them the chance to compete at higher levels.

WHY SUPPORT THE HAMMERS RUGBY CLUB?

Do you or someone you know have a passion for rugby and a desire to make a meaningful impact on the rugby community?

Do you believe that youth sports, like rugby, play a transformative role in the lives of our youth?

If so, we invite you to join us in making a difference in the lives of the Hammers Rugby Club's young athletes, ranging in age from 6 to 18, from all over Northern Colorado.

These enthusiastic rugby players are eager for your support! The Hammers Rugby Club (formerly Fort Collins Youth Rugby Club) is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 that has expanded to include high school girls and boys teams and a thriving youth TRY program. This past 2024 season, we proudly registered nearly 180 athletes across our High School and TRY level programs.

We are immensely proud of our athletes, many of whom have competed on the High School All-State Rugby team and traveled with select teams across Colorado. Our teams have a storied history of success, including recent triumphs such as the 2022 High School Boys D2 Division and Series Champions and the High School Girls D1 Division Champions. This past season, our High School Boys team secured 2nd place in the 2024 High School Rugby State Championship, and our High School Girls team secured 3rd place. Additionally, our Middle School Boys team went undefeated, and our Middle School Girls team grew from just 5 players in 2023 to over 20 registered players in 2024!

We are excited to welcome even more children into our rugby family and share our passion for the sport.

The Hammers board and coaching staff are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment. We welcome aspiring or veteran ruggers of any age, gender, demographic, nationality, or athletic ability. Our goal is to share the love of rugby with every child athlete in Northern Colorado.

Our coaches are working tirelessly to provide our athletes with the resources they need to excel both on and off the field. However, we face challenges in this economic climate, and your support can help alleviate the financial burden on our families.

HOW YOUR DONATION WILL BE USED

By choosing to donate to the Hammers Rugby Club (HRC), your gift will be used to:

Provide financial scholarships to help cover registration fees for our athletes.

Purchase essential equipment (ruck pads, sideline coaching system, player rugby kit bags, balls, field cones & flags, and post pads).

Cover field rental fees.

Supply team kits.

Provide cleats and mouthguards.

Acquire a team tent for game days to protect our athletes from the elements.

Establish a relief fund for team travel expenses.
