Foundation for Foster Children

The purpose of Burpees For Bucks is to raise awareness and funds for the underprivileged youth of our community. Each year at SUBU CrossFit, we commit to raising money for a local charity by doing burpees (a lot of them).

We call this fundraiser Burpees For Bucks and this year, for our 13th year, we have once again teamed up with the Foundation for Foster Children. The FFC’s mission is to create meaningful connections for children in foster care through personalized support. Founded in 2008, the FFC was formed to address the staggering and alarming statistics surrounding foster children in Central Florida. With our mission being to improve our community through fitness we feel as though our ideals align perfectly and we look forward to an impactful relationship benefitting the unfortunate youth of Orlando.

During Burpees for Bucks our members collect monetary donations by promising to do one burpee for every dollar they raise. All of the money raised goes directly to providing aid and assistance for youngsters experiencing homelessness and/or other hardships.

I chose to donate here because I want to help make a difference in the system. I've seen how the foster care system affects children and I want to help change it and make it better for them while they are in this trying time of their lives

More information about Foundation for Foster Children: There are over 2,000 kids in foster care in Orange, Seminole & Osceola counties and the foster care system is very cookie-cutter. The Foundation for Foster Children (FFC) was founded in 2008 to help these children get the personalized support needed to be successful. FFC supports the kids under 3 pillars: Enrichment (gives kids under 18 opportunities for typical childhood experiences), Education (tutoring and advocacy), and Transition to Adulthood (assists young adults with things like housing/first car).
