Dr. Frederick G. Sampson II was preacher extraordinaire, scholar in the pulpit, scientist in the church, pastor in the community, national father, compassionate shepherd, wise mentor, and spiritual friend of the highest order. A legacy of service that still continues to bless us and bless many.
Dr. Frank A. Thomas and Christian Theology Seminary of Indianapolis, Indiana have created the very first Ph.D. program in African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric. The vision of the program is to expose the beauty, depth, history, and transformative power of the African American preaching tradition to generate a preaching renaissance to revive American Christianity in the 21st century.
The Frederick G. Sampson Foundation joins in partnership with Dr. Frank A. Thomas and Christian Theological Seminary to promote the legacy of Dr. Frederick G. Sampson by establishing the Frederick G. Sampson II Scholarship that will help a deserving student in the Ph.D. program to not incur life-altering debt and position the program so that it can be endowed into perpetuity for the future.
The Frederick G. Sampson II scholarship is an amazing and exciting vision. It is a wonderful opportunity to continue a great legacy.
