Freeze Out 2024- 20 Years of Freezin' For A Reason
For the past 20 years, on a chilly day in February, we've pulled on our bright red mittens and headed outside. Alongside our neighbors, we raise funds for and awareness of our critical programs. This year, we ask you to help us ensure that our neighbors in Freeport & Pownal continue to have ample access to food resources within their community.
We have all seen the price of food increase recently. Patrons are visiting our Food Pantry in larger numbers than ever; our Pantry provides immense relief. Your support maintains a reliable resource for 180 households or 335 people each month. This summer FCS created its own summer food program for RSU5 students. We had an overwhelming response with 179 children and 70 families participating. This success has led to strong participation in our school year Backpack program with more than 60 children receiving food weekly.
Your gift of any size will make a difference, but please consider the following:
• $205 provides one child with 216 weekend meals for the entire school year. We provide food for an average of 60 children weekly.
• $35 provides one child with supplemental food during the summer months. An average of 120 children participated weekly.
• $550 provides one person with 1,095 meals each year. Around 335 people access our pantry each month.
Please donate today to help prevent our Freeport and Pownal neighbors from experiencing hunger.
Don't forget to drive by FCS on February 24th to show your support as we're outside Freezin' For A Reason at our 20th Annual Freeze Out!
