Celebrate Maria: A Quinceañera of Hope& Generosity
We need your help for a very special girl and organization. Many of you have heard me speak of a wonderful organization that we had the honor of working with last year on one of our programs, Casa Hogar in Cabo San Lucas. Casa Hogar is a privately funded social assistance center for children in Cabo San Lucas area that need another place to call home while their families are unable to care for them due to an unsafe situation.
Casa Hogar provides 360⁰ support and a loving "family" environment for these children. They care for children of all ages (currently age 4 - 18) and also have a transition living facility for our kids that age out of the system at 18 and need a living arrangement while they finish school and get ready for adult life. We are reaching out to share a heartwarming story about a courageous young girl named Maria (not her real name) at Casa Hogar. Maria, along with her brother, found refuge at Casa Hogar after authorities intervened due to their stepfather abusing them. Unfortunately, their father was not in a position to take them. He worked 6 days-a-week and lived in a communal environment at the job site, working very hard to just to survive below the poverty line. Despite their father's limited resources, he remains actively involved in their lives, dedicating Sundays to be with his children at Casa Hogar.
Maria, a kind and selfless soul, constantly looks out for others. Whether it's offering her dessert to another child or consoling a crying friend, her generosity knows no bounds. Approaching her 15th birthday this month, Maria is anticipating her quinceañera , a celebration of her transition from girlhood to womanhood.
Rather than requesting dresses, gifts, or a grand party, Maria's humble wish is for her father to have a suit to wear to Mass on her birthday, as he has never owned one. This selfless request embodies Maria's caring nature.
To make Maria’s quinceañera truly special, Casa Hogar and the ETM Team, who have had the privilege of knowing Maria, have initiated a Go Fund Me campaign. The goal is to raise funds to ensure Maria, her dad and brother have a memorable day, shared with their friends at Casa Hogar. Your support is crucial to making Maria’s quinceañera a cherished and unforgettable experience. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is welcome.
