Fundraisers by the organization that needs your help
- Organized by Friends of Hoja Nuevaindi chocolate, a beloved fixture in Seattle's Pike Place Market, is extending its passion for ethically sourced cacao and community impact to the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. We’re partnering with Hoja Nueva, a leading wildlife rescue and conservation organization, to provide essential tools and supplies that are critical for both wildlife rehabilitation and local cacao farming—resources that cannot be sourced within Peru.
About the Mission:
Erin Andrews, founder of indi chocolate, has always believed in the power of community and the importance of sustainable practices. Our commitment to ethical sourcing and direct support for cacao farmers has defined who we are. Now, we're joining forces with Hoja Nueva, an organization that rescues and rehabilitates endangered wildlife, such as pumas and margays, while also empowering local communities.
Led by Samantha Zwicker, Hoja Nueva is making a significant impact in one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. However, their work is challenged by the remote location, which makes acquiring necessary supplies nearly impossible.
What Your Support Will Do:
With your help, Erin Andrews and indi chocolate will bring vital supplies directly to Hoja Nueva, including:
Wildlife Rehabilitation Tools and Supplies: Essential items for the care and recovery of injured and orphaned wildlife, including medical equipment, vitamins, and specialized supplements that are not available in Peru.
Research Equipment: Tools and devices that will support Hoja Nueva’s ongoing research efforts, helping them to monitor and protect the Amazon’s unique ecosystems more effectively.
Support for Local Cacao Farmers: High-quality tools and resources for the cacao farmers in the region, who work tirelessly to grow the cacao that is essential to both their livelihoods and to the chocolate we all love. These tools will help improve crop yields, maintain sustainable farming practices, and support the overall well-being of these farming communities.
Why This Matters:
By contributing to this fundraiser, you are not only supporting the continuation of vital conservation work but also ensuring that local communities have the tools they need to thrive. The supplies Erin will bring are essential to the success of Hoja Nueva’s mission and the sustainability of local cacao farming—two efforts that are deeply interconnected in preserving the Amazon’s biodiversity and supporting its people.
Your donation, no matter the size, will make a direct and meaningful impact. Join us in this journey—starting with chocolate and ending with a more sustainable, thriving future for the Amazon and its inhabitants.
Thank you for being a part of our mission to protect the Amazon and its incredible wildlife.
Together, we can make a difference.
