Save Oak Grove Park
The Oak Grove Park has been a gem in the Hood River community for decades. Placed on the old school grounds of the Oak Grove School, neighbors and community members have donated land, time and money to establish this as a place to play, gather and recreate. The park offers amenities such as a large sports field, basic playground equipment, sand volleyball, handball, and tennis courts. The park appeals to a diverse group of people and is located on the west side of Hood River.
The Friends of Oak Grove Park committee is asking for your help as they work closely with Hood River County to keep the park open, safe and available for years to come. Long-term grass-roots funding is needed to maintain the current grounds.
Over the past few years your generous donations kept the park OPEN and maintained while the County was unable to -they refunded basic maintenance costs last July. We also upgraded the children's play area and added toddler friendly equipment.
Future improvements include resurfacing of the tennis courts in 2021. We will also work with the volleyball community to upgrade the sand court.
Friends of Oak Grove Park will endeavor to continue to fund the park with your ongoing donations. We are calling on neighbors and community members to keep this park open and safe and to demonstrate the value Oak Grove Park still has in our community.
This GoFundMe account is set up and managed by Friends of Oak Grove Park Committee. The committee has been around since the 1970’s and is recognized as a non-profit 501(c)(3). Donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be generated by GoFundMe.
Thank you kindly for your support so we can carry out our mission to keep the park open and healthy for generations to come!
