With public schools scheduled to open early next month, Harlem’s public school children need us now more than ever.

Now is the time families really need our support, many of whom have struggled even before the current health crisis. Whatever you can give we need everyone part of this so we are ready for this school year. Because our board pays for all administrative costs, 100% of the money you give goes directly to the purchasing of educational resources for students and public schools in Harlem.

In the coming days, we will begin a new initiative together with the Robin Hood Foundation to provide healthy meals for families in need. Later this month, we will again provide backpacks, school supplies, and masks, as well as some laptops and tablets for remote learning, to children at events throughout Harlem.

These school supplies send a powerful message to families letting them know they are not alone, and have a real impact in a child’s success in the classroom and in life. It is because of your efforts that children are able to get the proper resources they need. So please, give what you can today.

During COVID-19, many parents are out of work and families have gone hungry. The crisis continues, and low-income families are hit hardest. Harlem children are struggling without the resources they need to succeed.  In times like these, all of us who can must step up and help.

I’ve joined the Board of Friends of Public School Harlem to help children who are struggling much like I was at their age. We provide backpacks, school supplies, laptops, meals, groceries, masks, and more to let these kids know they are not alone. This fall, we’ve already helped more than 5,000 families – but we need to do more.

I ask you to join me, if you can afford to, and rush a donation to help support this initiative right now.  If you give $10 it helps get supplies to 2 children. If you give $100 we can reach 20 more kids. Because our board pays for all administrative costs, 100% of the money you give goes directly to the purchasing of educational resources for students and public schools in Harlem.
