Robotics team robbed twice and needs your help!
On December 24th and January 11th, our FRC robotics team (SOTA Cyberdragon's) workshop was broken into. Throughout this two break-in incidents, we lost over $11,000 worth of tools and equipment. We built the shed from the ground up in two weeks in order to have a work-space in time for the upcoming 2020 build season, which began on January 4th. Among the items taken were several laptops, saws, a drill press, and hand-held power tools. The door was secured with five different locks, and the thieves tore down the wall as an alternative. They were also able to pry open locked drawers on the inside that stored especially valuable materials.
The SFPD officers from the Ingleside Station were extremely kind and caring which was highly appreciated.
As a part of Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, our team brings opportunity for students to pursue STEM at an otherwise arts focused school. We will carry on to complete our robot over the next few weeks, but they will need to replace the stolen items. Our team has been working hard to raise enough money to participate in the program; affording tools and competition fees over this past year has been a struggle and losing this money is a major setback that could prevent us from competing this season. If you are willing to make a tax-deductible donation to help us replace the stolen items, we would be extremely grateful.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! We now have enough money to replace what we lost! We could not have done it without the help of everyone who donated! From now on all money that gets donated will go to us finding us a new place to work, that is secure and safe. If you have any spare equipment it would also be greatly much appreciated!
