Denver School of the Arts to the Midwest Clinic
Denver School of the Arts (DSA) High School Full Orchestra has been invited to perform at the 76th Annual Midwest Clinic, one of the most prestigious competitions in the nation for musicians. Fifty total organizations will be performing at this year’s conference. DSA is one of three high school full orchestras chosen and the only music organization from Colorado participating.
Annually held in Chicago, The Midwest Clinic is the world’s largest instrumental music education conference and attended annually by an international audience of more than 18,000 music educators, students, and professionals. In addition to performing in and attending many of The Midwest Clinic conference sessions, our group will be seeing shows (Chicago Symphony, a Broadway performance and a local jazz dinner club), visiting museums (Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Science & Industry), and enjoying Chicago food, culture and attractions.
And while the trip will be incredibly enriching and rewarding, it is also quite costly — $1700 per person — and comes right during the holiday season when money is often already tight. These musicians are giving so much of their time, working incredibly hard to rehearse and perfect their program so that they can proudly represent our school and our state. Let’s support them financially; let’s help offset the cost of this incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience!
The campaign closes right before Thanksgiving break. We need to get all funds collected to our travel agent by the end of November so she can credit the student accounts.
Thank you for your support!
