Hey there, friends! Chippy the Cardinal here, bringing you a special message about our beautiful DuPage Forest Preserves. As the proud mascot of North Central College, I know firsthand how important it is to protect the places where we learn, explore, and spread our wings!

Our local preserves provide a safe haven for wildlife, peaceful trails for adventure seekers, and hands-on learning experiences for students of all ages. But they need our help to keep them thriving! By supporting this charity, you’re helping to restore habitats, protect native species, and ensure that future generations can enjoy the great outdoors—just like I do!

Joses Eagle Scout Service Project
Hi! My name is Jose DeLaGarza and I'm an aspiring Eagle Scout with Troop 39 working on a project to help and service the community. To become an Eagle Scout, one of the tasks a scout has to perform is a community service project that benefits solely the community. There are many ways to service the community around us, so it's encouraged that a scout be as creative as they'd like.

I have chosen to better our community by helping The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County with its mission to better habitats, land and restore wildlife. With the help of my community, I am raising money to buy a centrifugal fan that operates what's called a seed-drying cabinet. This 6-foot tall, 4 feet wide seed-drying cabinet is a heavy-duty wooden cabinet with 4 chores and metal wire mesh bottoms that will be used to dry an abundance of multiple species of seeds quickly and effectively to protect them from mold, rot and prepare them for either propagation or dispersal. I have chosen $700 as my goal because the fan is $330 without tax and the rest of the money will go to plywood and other small hardware such as extra wood and metal handles for the chores.

Neighbors of Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve is fundraising
Save our Public Lands!
Want to join us in making a difference? We're raising money to help purchase a parcel of land near Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, near Darien, Illinois. Donations will go to The Friends of The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. The Friends will donate the money to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County to be used toward the purchase of a parcel of land to add to Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve. Any donation will help keep this parcel of land open space for future generations to enjoy. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to all of us.

The Friends is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit fundraising arm of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, and your support helps us help the District connect people with nature and improve the prairies, woodlands and wetlands that native plants and wildlife call home.
