Want to join me in making a big difference? I'm raising money to benefit The Palm Springs Animal Shelter's feral cat TNR (Trap and Release) Program!
As most of you know, I have a small colony of beautiful feral cats that I have captured and brought to the Palm Springs Animal Shelter for spaying/neutering and vetting. The cost is a $45 donation for each cat. From there, I release them back where I trapped them and if they stick around we provide them with wet and dry food twice a day and a safe place to live/hang out in our front courtyard (i.e. "2 hots and a cot"!) .
A few weeks ago, a new cat showed up for dinner and I noticed a large "tumor" hanging from his stomach. Taking the advice of Jana (the lead organizer of the TNR program for feral cats), I brought him in. "Oliver" was neutered, given all the necessary shots and they discovered his "tumor" was actually a hernia that he has probably had all his life. They also repaired the hernia and they sent me home with a large cage to keep him in for 2 weeks to recover. (oy!)
The cost of this BIG surgery was covered with what I thought was a very low, nominal fee. Because of the enormous gratitude I have for Jana and the TNR program, this is why I have started this GoFundMe.
If you enjoy following me and our crazy outside kitties, now's your chance to be a part of it and help make a difference! It's a great program that our (and THOUSANDS of other) feral cats have benefited from, so please donate generously if you can, so they can continue doing their great work.
I will be releasing Oliver tomorrow, as it's the end of his long 2 week recovery. He is hopping mad about being "in prison", but he has been well cared for and is ready to venture out again. He may or may not stick around, but that's his choice!
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
