G & H Ambulance Service Inc

G&H Ambulance Service Inc is a small private 501(c)(3) non-profit ambulance service. We are a self-sustaining, non-town or hospital-owned ambulance. We receive a donation from the town we cover once a year, while the remaining funds are from insurance reimbursements and people paying their co-pays, or if self-pay.

Our call volume ranges from 1500 to 1800. Our call volume ranges from emergency calls and local to long-distance transfers.

We are a paid-on-call service. We are licensed at Basic Life Support and permitted to Paramedic. Our current staffing consists of 5 Basic EMTs, 1 Advanced EMT, 1 Paramedic, and 5 drivers. We are a 24/7 operation.

With excessively high equipment costs, we are looking at all avenues to help acquire needed equipment for our staff and the community we service. Due to the prices of these pieces of equipment, we simply cannot afford to purchase them and keep in operation at the same time.

Examples of equipment costs: these are some items required for operations. A boxed ambulance ranges from $200,000 to $300,000; our currant age of our ambulances are 2010, 2012, and 2013, that in itself carries high maintenance bills, a stretcher ranges from $20,000 to $25,000; a LifePak monitor, the piece of equipment that we use to monitor vitals and, if needed, shock your heart if you are having a heart attack, ranges from $50,000 to $60,000. These are just a few of the main items, not including all the other required equipment we need to have on the trucks in order to be in operation.

Our current goal is to add a Lucas device, this helps with CPR. These range from 15,000 to $21, 000. After this piece of equipment we want to try and obtain at least one auto load for the stretchers. This ranges from $20,000 to $25,000 and our stretcher would also need to be retrofitted.
