Gate City Charter School for the Arts

Gate City Charter School for the Arts has a vision for a natural playscape where kids can go to play and learn that encompasses our values such as sustainably for our environment and reusing and recycling old materials, staying connected to nature and the world around us and enjoying sensory play with natural objects such as water, wood, stones and bricks. A place for kids to use their imaginations by building and creating and also expend physical energy by climbing, swinging, running and playing with balls. We intend to link our curriculum with our natural playscape through various projects that incorporate multiple subject areas. Our kids will connect with nature and connect with each other. They can engage with sensory activities by themselves or play along with their friends. Whether they need time to be introverted or extraverted there will be a range of different things for them to do.

The main fundraising goal has been to build a playground. We are so close to our goal and have raised $10,000 of the $16,000 we need. Please help us get the rest of the way!

The arts, in all their media can be an invaluable tool in the education of our children, building problem-solving skills, enabling students to express unique ideas, fostering critical thinking and enhancing overall learning. We use the guiding principle at Gate City Charter School for the arts where our faculty and staff are providing leadership in transforming education to our 180 students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Open since September 2014, we serve students residing in more than a dozen communities in southern New Hampshire at our school located in Merrimack.
