Volunteers at the GHRS were called to rescue 150 bunnies from a hoarding situation that included cramped conditions, filthy cages, and a lack of drinking water. To save these bunnies we need your help. We hope to raise $35,000 to get them critical medical care and to find them homes. GHRS has in-taken 125 of these rabbits at this time. The shelter will need about $300 per rabbit.

Why so much per rabbit? This estimate includes vet care, spaying/neutering, and medication. Many of the bunnies are sick from living in these conditions. We are treating many for wounds from fighting, abscess, mites, coccidia, syphilis, fleas, ticks, sore hocks, and more. Additionally, this budget includes potentially transporting these rabbits to other shelters to increase their odds of being adopted.

Rabbits are companion animals, just like dogs and cats and with the help of so many bunny lovers, GHRS has made it this far. But now we need your help!

The GHRS shelter expansion would allow us to house more bunnies while they wait for their forever homes, expand the medical area for bunnies who require urgent care and allow us to gain more space for boarding for our community of bunny families.

Your donation will allow us to save more lives, and with Easter approaching, it is our goal to educate as many people as possible on the cons of purchasing bunnies purely as impulse buys for the holiday.
