Gilda's Club Chicago

Neighbors and Friends of the Rush Medical Center Community:

I am writing on behalf of the Rush University Physician Assistant program. We consist of 90 students undergoing training in the classroom and at clinical sites around the Chicagoland area. Our education, community commitment and skills development is furthered by regularly volunteering our time and skills reaching underserved communities at shelters, clinics and programs both on and off campus. This year, our class is organizing a silent auction fundraiser to take in place in March that will support Gilda’s Club Chicago. The entirety of the fundraiser will support educational activities and events for the upcoming year, with at least half of the proceeds from this year’s silent auction going to Gilda’s Club Chicago.

Gilda’s Club Chicago supports anyone living with cancer – men, women, teens and children – along with their families and friends, as well as those who have lost someone to cancer. Their innovative program, including more than 300 free activities each month, is an essential complement to medical care and offers support groups, educational lectures, healthy lifestyle workshops, resource referrals, and social opportunities. Gilda’s Club Chicago’s mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community. Gilda’s Club is a non-profit organization and is funded through donations from individuals, business, foundations, and special events.

We ask for your support to enable our program to further efforts in making positive impacts within our community.  We are seeking donations that we can auction off to other students, faculty, and staff at the medical center. If you wish to make a monetary donation directly to our program, we could gratefully arrange for that as well. We appreciate any assistance you are able to provide.
