In celebration of having made 50 trips around the sun this summer, I’m running a 50 km trail in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and working with Give A Mile to raise $50,000 for those in desperate need of a flight of compassion.

Give A Mile is a registered charity that provides flights for people at the end of their lives, enabling them to connect with their loved ones for a final goodbye.

They work tirelessly to ensure that the cost of a plane ticket doesn’t prevent someone from being with their family and friends during such critical moments.

They facilitate donations of flight miles and funds to support these journeys, allowing people to share a last hug, smile, and farewell with their loved ones.

Spring Into Action!
Give A Mile provides free flights to reunite low income families at the end of life.

Since 2013 we have given away over 1130 flights.

Help us reach our goal during this campaign to give away an additional 37 flights.

Why 37? Because that is how old Ryan was when he died in 2010.

Ryan Westerman is the inspiration for Give A Mile.

Because the cost of a flight should never be the reason someone dies alone.

Mother's and Father's Day Campaign
Campaign wrap-up: We are officially wrapping up the Mother's Day Father's Day campaign, although this page will remain open for donations for the next few months. Thanks to donors like you, we raised $5,125 and 735,066 United MileagePlus miles in the U.S. We also provided 22 flights across the organization during the campaign period.

This Mother's and Father's Day, Give A Mile is committed to providing flights to 25 people to be with their loved ones for a final goodbye. This $5,000 will be used exclusively to purchase flights or for taxes and fees of flights purchased with miles.

As Mother’s Day and Father’s Day approaches, we recognize the importance of family and the profound impact they have on our lives. Unfortunately, not everyone can spend these special days with their loved ones. In particular, when families face the end of life those moments become all the more important. With the rising cost of living, often these flights are even further out of reach for many families.

That is where Give A Mile comes in. We believe that everyone deserves to have their loved ones by their side at the end of life, and our organization works tirelessly to make that a reality. By providing flights, we give families the precious gift of time. But we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re asking for your help. By donating today, you can provide those moments.
