Go Get Your You Foundation

My name is Margaret Harriott, Executive Director and founder of a South Carolina based Veterans Organization, Go Get Your You Foundation. This unique named organization was created to assist Veterans in all walks of life by giving them the support to create or re-create the desired life for them and their families after life in the US Military. I founded this organization after the loss of my first restaurant during the pandemic because I did not have the needed expertise to navigate my business through turbulent times. My passion for cooking and outreaching to my community grew to outreaching for my fellow veterans and incorporating all of the knowledge I have gained along the way to serve Veterans and ensure they, as well as their family members, have all they need to live the life they desire.

The mission of Go Get Your You Foundation is to provide a space for veterans and their families to have access to resources, mental health services and enhanced services, at no cost in an effort to create a lifetime of support for our nations veterans.

My love for cooking put me in contact with local farms that hired me to cater "Farm to Table" cooking demonstrations. In researching and preparing for those catering events, I began to develop a love for planting and gardening as it was a coping mechanism and therapy for the depression I was going through and I knew that if cultivating through therapy helped me to cope, it could help someone or a few hundred. I envisioned a place where Veterans and their families could get resources, various services to include:

and most importantly Mental Health therapy through various farming services on the property and these will include but not limited to:

. The space will also include walking trails, fishing holes and a field for entertainment programs and events held by G2Y2. These services and farming techniques will create foods, herbs and fruits that will be used for our Community Food Program for the community and and surrounding communities. Please join us in raising funds to purchase the property in beautiful Loris South Carolina, that will house our organization as well as be the home for our programs, outreach, events and community food hub/program. The funds will be used to lease the farm property for two years, which sits on 19.9 acres, purchase equipment, buildings, and create a winning team to match and implement the winning programs and services we have.

In addition to the services we have in place, we will also offer rental packages for use of the farm for community or organizational events on the property.
