Gongoliers Robotics Empowerment Group

At the New England District FIRST Robotics Challenge Championship event this past weekend, The Gongoliers were recognized as one of two Engineering Inspiration Award winners. This prestigious award celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school and community. To earn this award, the team met with judges to share their outreach efforts and detailed how they work to embody and spread the mission of FIRST in its surrounding communities. The Engineering Inspiration Award qualifies the team to compete at the World Championship April 15-19th in Houston, Texas! This is the second year in team history that The Gongoliers have qualified for the World Championship event and will be competing for the Engineering Inspiration award at the world level.

Once again, we are left with just over 1 week between these competitions, and the Gongoliers Robotics Empowerment Group is working to reduce the direct costs that are imposed on the team members. We're asking for our community's help to ease the financial burden on our team.

Last weekend, FIRST Robotics Team 5112 competed alongside 95 teams from around New England in this year's District Championship, held at the Big E in Springfield. After being selected for their first-ever District Championship playoff appearance, Team 5112, alongside Teams 8013 and 195, won the entire playoff bracket to become District Champions. With this competition win, The Gongoliers are now qualified to compete in the World Championships in Houston, TX!
