Why I Started Brewthletes – My Story
Sports aren’t just a game—they’re a way out, a way up, and for many, the only real shot at something bigger.
I started Brewthletes because I’ve seen firsthand what happens when kids don’t get that shot. Growing up in Mexico City, I watched insanely talented athletes quit—not because they weren’t good enough, but because they couldn’t afford the gear, the training, or even a ride to practice.
And when you don’t have access to opportunity, the streets provide their own version of it.
I saw kids—some of my own friends—end up in gangs, dealing drugs, getting arrested, and some didn’t make it out at all. Not because they were bad people, but because they never had another choice.
But this isn’t just a Mexico City problem.
It’s happening everywhere. From the U.S. to Europe, Africa to South America, talented young athletes are forced to give up on their dreams because they don’t have the financial support, the training, or the opportunities to break through.
That’s where Brewthletes comes in.
