The second wave of the COVID pandemic has been sweeping through Tamil Nadu wiping out lives and livelihoods in its wake everywhere. It is heartbreaking to watch people, young and old, struggling to breathe and unable to get medical treatment as hospitals everywhere are forced to turn away patients because they do not have the resources to treat them. The dire situation across Tamil Nadu has prompted organizations everywhere to mobilize resources and send aid in the form of money and supplies to Tamil Nadu GCTS will be joining in this fight against COVID too.

We, at Greater Cincinnati Tamil Sangam (GCTS), to help procure emergency medical equipment and supplies like Oxygen concentrators, PPE, N95 masks, medicines such as low molecular weight Heparin and Remdesivir to various hospitals and provide Financial Assistance to families impacted by COVID-19 in Chennai and other areas of Tamil Nadu as well. Please join us in this fight against COVID, donate generously and help save lives in Tamil Nadu. Together, we can make a difference.

The “100K FOR CORONA” fund's mission is to empower people to overcome hardship and end hunger caused by COVID-19. Its Purpose is to provide Financial Assistance to families impacted by COVID-19. The vision is to raise One Hundred Thousand Dollars or more in contributions from patrons in the Greater Cincinnati Region and their contacts around the world.

Aparna Ramakrishnan and Girish Narayanaswamy with two beautiful boys: Hari (12) and Ram (9) came to Cincinnati, US a few years ago. They started their life in the US in Olde Montgomery. Aparna, being a great hardworking lady devoted most of her time taking care of the family while Girish traveled and worked hard for Deloitte. In 2017, they moved into Carmelle Community. Recently, Girish changed his job and started working at Milacron, Inc in Cincinnati to stay more at home. As fate would have it, their peaceful lives took an unfortunate turn, when Aparna suddenly left them for heavenly abode on Saturday, September 22, 2018, after experiencing severe shortness of breath for reasons only known to the Almighty. Girish has been left alone with two smart, handsome young boys, Hari and Ram.


Girish and his parents are still in shock and are not sure what’s going on. They are trying to stay strong as much as possible, but as we can all expect, they are having bouts of uncontrollable grief as they try to digest the reality. Their younger son is still confused, but the older one has hit hard. He is uncontrollable at times.

Funeral Services for Aparna will be held on Thursday 9/27 commencing at 12 noon in Spring Grove Funeral Homes @ 4389 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45223.

Public Visitation from 12 noon to 1 pm. Followed by Cremation Rituals (likely Private) 1 pm to 2 pm.



Greater Cincinnati Tamil Sangam (GCTS), a non-profit association of Cincinnati, is coordinating with Aparna's family and reaching out to everyone for moral and monetary assistance in such a difficult time.
