Green City, Inc is focusing all efforts on a new project: The New Farm, a community space where children can experience a small-scale urban farm with goats, chickens, insect exhibitions, aquaponics, bicycle powered compost bins, vegetable and herb gardens, and fruit trees, amongst bike powered rides, a camera obscura, and maybe even some miniature golf holes. We are planning a greenhouse and classrooms for environmental education. Additionally, we will host outdoor weekend performances with local bands and musicians, including children and youth performers. Green City Project will be working in conjunction with Bay Natives Nursery, a source of native plants. Bay Natives, and the site of The New Farm, is located at Pier 96, Port of SF, across from Heron's Head Park, in the Bayview.
