Show Your Love for the Liz Christy Garden
Thank you for being a friend of the Liz Christy Garden!
Friends, we have good news: The Liz Christy arbor has been restored and is better and stronger than ever.
Thanks to your generous donations, including a big gift from the longtime Liz Christy gardener Brandon Krall, who lost her battle with cancer in 2021, we again have a beautiful, safe place where the community can gather right in the middle of our garden — just in time for our 50th anniversary this year!
Please stop by the garden during open hours and check out what you helped us rebuild.
The Liz Christy Garden, located on East Houston Street between Second Avenue and the Bowery in Manhattan, has offered an oasis from the concrete jungle since 1973. It's the oldest community garden in New York City and is maintained entirely by a group of dedicated volunteers.
As a volunteer-run garden that relies on donations from the public to buy and maintain necessities like benches, tables, gravel for the paths, hoses and, of course, the beautiful flowers and trees, we still need your financial help. Please consider donating to keep the garden beautiful.
