Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Program

I am happy to announce that I am working with one of the leading orangutan conservation organizations, the Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Program, to raise $10,000. Orangutans are an incredible species, which I care deeply about, and I want to play my role in helping to make sure that they do not go extinct at the hands of human beings. I have created an animated video to educate the public, and have also given several short presentations to middle schoolers about these amazing animals. I hope that you can help this endangered species by giving what you can to GPOCP.

More information about Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Program: Our mission protects orangutans and forest biodiversity in and around Gunung Palung National Park. Recognizing that most threats to orangutan survival are human induced, we take a multi-faceted community-based approach to conservation. We use solution-based methods to find viable alternatives to human activities that detrimentally impact the forest. Our approach provides opportunities for locals to become involved and invested in our programs, which fosters long-term sustainability.
