Hiking for Hope
Sarah Baker has thruhiked the entire Appalachian Trail(2021) ,Pacific Crest Trail(2022) and has found a love of endurance beyond hiking in running ultramarathons. This summer she will begin a journey to set a fastest known time, or FKT, with her crew on the Appalachian Trail. Sarah was inspired by Jennifer Pharr Davis’s record hike and seeks to set a new women’s overall record on the AT. She is raising money to benefit Hope Recovery Center-a faith based Retreat assisting women and men with drug and alchohol abuse. This is a cause that is near and dear to her heart because of her own struggle with addiction. Sarah had found freedom from addiction through her relationship with Jesus Christ and the Appalachian Trail. She will be attempting her record , from GA to ME on the Appalachian Trail starting from Springer Mountain no later than July 1st. Her goal is to set a new Women’s Overall record in under 46 days. It is through her love of hiking(wilderness therapy), the Glory of God, and this charity that will be her driving force for the record.
