Hello, my name is Michael Fleck. Thank you to anyone taking the time to read about our "Baby." Baby was a little Lilac Frenchie who was the light of our families lives. She joined our family the day after Christmas as a gift to my wife in 2019, she was 4 months old. Our boys at the time were 3 and 1 and in the course of her life she became their baby sister and my wifes daughter. Baby liked to have her tummy rubbed, her face pet, her back rubbed, in fact, she liked any attention you had to give. She greeted strangers as well as loved ones all the same. She thought she was pretty great and she was right.
We have started this fundraiser to raise awareness to dog owners that there's two sides to every fence. My family has nice fences. Our dogs were not going to get out. We never considered it wasn't our dogs getting out that was the greatest threat but dogs getting in. On Wednesday 8th, 2023 a pair of dogs gained access into our yard by breaking redwood fence boards, tortured our little Baby and killed her. If anyone who reads this story has powerful animals it's a good idea to take a second look at your borders and make sure they are secure enough to keep your animals in. This was totally preventable. I believe as a long time dog owner that sometimes it's hard to imagine that our dogs could do something like this and we let our guard down. Don't wait to secure your fence.
