BIPOC Yoga Teacher Training Scholarship Fund
The Integral Yoga Institute San Francisco (IYISF) recognizes the structural and institutional racism in Yoga and wellness communities, and acknowledges the lack of diverse representation in our Yoga classes.
Since 2020,
-IYISF has trained and certified over 40 new BIPOC teachers through their 100% scholarship-based, BIPOC 200-Hour Teacher Training made possible through the generosity of our community.
-Offered an anti-racism training program for teachers and staff to understand systemic racism in the Yoga Community and gain awareness and tools to advocate for social justice.
-Added Spanish yoga classes.
-Added new members to the IYISF Board of Directors to increase the diversity of our leadership team and updated our Teachers Code of Conduct to create a positive and safe environment for all members of our community.
Co-creating a diverse and equitable Yoga Community is an ongoing effort. IYISF is committed to cultivating a diverse range of teaching voices and creating brave and safe spaces where students and teachers alike can feel represented and welcomed. We offer scholarships for advanced training for our BIPOC teachers, create new outreach programs to bridge the gap between the IYISF community and its Spanish-speaking neighbors, provide meaningful programs to encourage members to act on behalf of equity and justice.
