Interim House, Inc.

In January 1972, our mother, Yvonne Linehan founded Interim House, a long-term residential treatment center for men struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, in Dorchester, Massachusetts. She was really a pioneer, widowed at age 33 with three young children and a secretarial degree. She founded Interim House, helped by a small group of friends, and built a thriving organization that she ran for many years. Though she died in 1999, Yvonne's legacy lives on in hundreds of people in active recovery, families reunited, and lives with renewed meaning. Fifty years later, Interim House is strong, with a great team at the helm (many trained by Yvonne), strong fiscal management, and a plan for the future.

 

Interim House is an older Victorian home in Fields Corner, and like many old structures, it requires constant and expensive upkeep. In honor of our mom, and the 50th anniversary, we have committed to raising $50,000 for a house maintenance fund.
