3rd Annual Spin-a-thon:

On December 21 & 22, 2023, the Ironwood Ridge HS Winterguard spun for 20+ hours as part of their 2nd annual spin-a-thon event! These hard-working students are part of one of Southern Arizona's oldest winterguard ensembles and are the current defending 2023 silver medalists for the Scholastic Regional A Anozira Division. We are collecting donations for this event to benefit our guard members directly via this Go-Fund-Me platform and through traditional cash/check donations (check should be written to Ironwood Ridge Music Association). Who We Are:

Formed in 2005, Ironwood Ridge HS WInterguard has been a very successful group in Southern Arizona, competing in various divisions throughout its history. The group competes locally in the Winter Guard Arizona (WGAZ) circuit and nationally in the Winter Guard International (WGI) circuit.

Why do we need to fundraise?

Every year, the group fundraises to offset the activity costs per household. Each member has already paid dues to participate in the ensemble. Still, we proudly ask for less monetary dues per member than many other groups nationwide participating in this division. We can only do this through consistent fundraising via our yearly spin-a-thon event.

The group needs to fundraise this year due to the many costs incurred for buses, trailers, equipment, props, staffing, and showing music rights. We need support from all of our supporters, including family members, friends, IRHS alumni, and the Oro Valley community.

Please consider helping make this dream come true for this wonderful group of hard-working, fierce, and artistic student performers. Competing in performances of this magnitude would be life-changing for all involved!

We are collecting donations for this event to directly benefit our guard members via this Go-Fund-Me platform, as well as through traditional cash/check donations (check should be written to Ironwood Ridge Music Association). 6th Annual Drum-a-thon at IRHS Update:

On January 14 & 15, 2022, the Ironwood Ridge HS Indoor Percussion drummed for 15 hours as part of their 6th annual drum-a-thon event! These hard-working students are part of Southern Arizona's oldest and most decorated indoor percussion ensembles. In years past, our students collected their donations beforehand. We have recommended collecting donations online via the Go-Fund-Me platform to reduce exposure risks via close contact during the current pandemic. A Return to Southern California is on the Horizon!

The Ironwood Ridge percussion ensemble plans to travel to the 2022 WGI Western Power Regional once again in late March for the first time since 2019 if we can successfully fundraise over the next month. The group's undefeated 2020 season was cut short just two weeks before making the trip back out to this event, meaning only four current members have ever made the trip to this fantastic event.

 

This year, the group needs to fundraise more than usual due to not hosting our typical WGAZ show at IRHS and the rising costs of buses, trailers, and hotels in Southern California. We need support from all of our supporters, including family members, friends, IRHS alumni, and the Oro Valley community, to pull together to make this happen. If we cannot raise our needed amount, we will not be able to travel to this event, postponing it until the spring of 2023.
