EXCITING NEWS!

After years of hard work in securing prime land, resolving legal aspects, developing the most intelligently designed temple and acquiring permission to construct we are very excited to announce NEW MILESTONES IN THE CONSTRUCTION of the New ISKCON Parsippany Temple.

The excavation and footings for most of the building have been completed. Concrete walls of most of the lower level areas are up and visible.

We have already raised and spent about $ 4 million (land purchase, legal services, design services, preliminary site-work and stormwater drainage systems)

We have received a bank loan of $ 2 million and we need to raise another $2.5 million to complete the construction such that we can move into the new building and serve the community. Our immediate goal for this year is $500,000.

Our current temple in Towaco, NJ has been serving the community since 1981 and we will plan to move into the new Parsippany Temple once construction is complete.

We distribute sumptuous sanctified food free of cost, numerous books, provide bhakti yoga training as well as in-depth bonafide education through various courses,  seminars,  and events based on Vedas.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), known as the Hare Krishna movement was incorporated in 1966 by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in New York.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness ISKCON was founded 50 years ago in 1966 in New York by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. ISKCON of New Jersey has been active in Towaco since 1981. Over the years, we’ve had the honor of serving the community in many ways that has benefited thousands. We’ve distributed books and sumptuous food (prasadam) as well as in-depth spiritual education.

Since then the congregation continues to grow larger and more vibrant; the current property is fast becoming inadequate to support the growth. In addition, the current temple building is situated on top of a hill which makes accessibility a challenge, especially for elderly or disabled visitors. 
We are in the process of building a beautiful temple in the nearby township of Parsippany. So far, we have acquired the 3.2 acres plot of land where we will build the temple and secured the necessary zoning approvals to build the temple. Of the required $4 Million for the first phase of the project, we have already secured over $2.5 million in donations and pledges.

Now we need your help to raise the remaining amount needed to get the construction work started as planned in June 2016. We would very much like to make this a wonderful 50th Anniversary offering to Lord Krishna and Srila Prabhupāda. 
Our goal in building this temple is to bring Lord Krishna and His teachings to a much wider community by moving to a more accessible location that can support a lot more people. By doing this we hope that all people across northern New Jersey and beyond will benefit spiritually by enjoying kirtan, delicious prasadam, and learning about the practice of yoga.
