Dear Friends,
As this fiscal year comes to a close, we reflect on a journey filled with both challenges and blessings. Together, we’ve accomplished so much, building an ongoing community centered in Venice Beach. From hosting transformative High Holiday services and meaningful holiday events to creating intimate Shabbat gatherings, our collective spirit continues to thrive.
First, a heartfelt thank you to the 85 supporters who have already contributed to our GoFundMe campaign! Your generosity fuels our work, and we’re so grateful for your partnership in creating a vibrant Jewish community.
This year, our efforts expanded in profound ways: I’ve added plant medicine guidance, personal and executive coaching, and counseling for many navigating post-October 7th Jewish life with optimism for divine connection in the face of adversity and my general Rabbinical council.
Miryum, in addition to her inspiring work as a preschool teacher and Jewish toy company entrepreneur, is launching a special course on spirituality and sexuality for women starting in January. On a personal level, I’ve embraced painting, prayer, music, and art—creative practices that have deepened my being and opened new channels of expression, allowing me to grow and serve more fully.
This year also brought personal joy as we celebrated our daughter Sara’s Bat Mitzvah, a milestone of faith, growth, and family connection. Looking ahead, we’re excited to deepen our partnerships with the community, creating even more impactful holiday events and opportunities for connection. Your continued support makes this all possible.
While we’ve made incredible progress, we’re still short of our fundraising goals. If you haven’t yet had the chance to contribute—or know someone who might be able to help—please consider making a donation today. Your support, whether through GoFundMe or via Zelle, Rabbi @ JLISF . org sustains our efforts to serve the Jewish people, foster connection, and thrive in this life of service. All contributions are tax-deductible and deeply appreciated. Thank you for believing in our vision and for walking this path with us. Together, we can continue building a community rooted in love, growth, and Divine connection.
With gratitude and blessings,
Rabbi Peretz
