My name is Kevin Hahn and this holiday season, I am raising money to benefit John Theissen Children’s Foundation. This non-profit helps sick and underprivileged children across Long Island through various programs throughout the year.
Upon discovering the first backyard ultramarathon would be taking place on Long Island, I felt compelled to participate for not just the singular objective of completing the challenge. I felt the desire to show up for not just myself, but for others.
After careful consideration and research, I inherently knew that the John Theissen Children’s Foundation was the organization I wanted to pursue in fundraising.
This local foundation has demonstrated commendable, dedication, and support for children who are disadvantaged or are battling an array of illnesses. I am in admiration of their mission, devotion, and regard for others, which reinforced my urge to contribute.
One of the most prominent values that has pivoted in my approach to life is the art of intention. When we apply this concept, we are living in the present moment. In doing so, we can utilize our energy in a way that is fulfilling and meaningful.
Running with a purpose provides us with the opportunity to connect with ourselves and the collective. It promotes empowerment, compassion and empathy in unison. I want to use my platform to promote and nurture awareness and mindfulness in my athletic endeavors, and overall performance.
There is no donation that it’s too little and each dollar that is contributed is so appreciated immensely. I have so much gratitude for all efforts invested in this project.
Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness, encouragement and generosity and helping me support this devoted cause.
