Zoey's Mitzvah Project: Share the Magic of Camp!
My name is Zoey and as my bat mitzvah project, I will be raising money for Mickey’s Kids.
Mickey’s Kids is an organization that raises money to give kids in need the gift of camp. It provides tuition assistance to many campers, which enables them to participate in the magic of summer camp.
I started at Camps Kenwood and Evergreen in 2021 when I was 9. Since then, I have waited the 10 months of the school year, longing to reunite with my best friends on Eagle Pond. Camp has given me so much, from cool adventures to lifelong best friends, and I would love to share the gift of camp with other kids.
Camp has taught me so much, like how to live with a “Why not?!” attitude, and to try new things. It has also taught me people skills, how to be independent, and make all new kinds of friends. At camp, I’ve played many sports, made movies, been in musicals, sang in a band, and been my best self.
While camp might be the best place ever and my second home, it is also very expensive. I am very, very lucky that my family is fortunate enough to send me to camp. Unfortunately, some kids are not as lucky. I love camp so much and it breaks my heart to know that not all kids not have the opportunity to go. Camps Kenwood and Evergreen has brought so much happiness into my life, and I really want to give other kids that same gift.
It would make me (and a future camper) so happy if you would please donate to this cause. I want to give other kids the awesomeness I experience every summer at Camps Kenwood and Evergreen, swimming in Eagle Pond.
Every dollar makes a difference!
