KaiVelo Foundation

My name is Helena Gilbert-Snyder and I am the Founder and Team Manager of Monarch Racing - made up of our Elite team (a semi-pro women's team) and our Development team (a U19 team).

We've been recognized by USA Cycling with the Innovation Grant, acknowledging our impact on growing the sport with innovative programming, and our programs and mission have been covered nationally and internationally in podcasts, films, and written media by outlets such as Velo, Global Cycling Network, and Girls Gone Gravel.

Our riders are required to volunteer and mentor within their communities - with riders leading skills clinics, group rides, gear swaps, volunteering at city events, and even being a bike marshall for the San Francisco Marathon, just to name a few!

Our Elite team races at the professional level nationally and internationally, and we cover financial and equipment costs for riders in an effort to remove the access barriers that so many women in cycling face. However, this mission is not cheap, and we rely on community support to continue serving these ambitious athletes as they take on these races across the world.

100% of your donations here go to Monarch Racing through the KaiVelo Foundation , our associated 501c3, and all donations support team costs associated with our Elite and Development teams as well as Community Events that we hold - myself and other team management are unpaid volunteers and all donations go towards the team riders and community engagement.

All GoFundMe donations to the KaiVelo Foundation support Monarch Racing's 2024 season. Monarch Racing is a domestic elite women's road team, based in the Bay Area, that provides complete support and mentorship for ambitious women seeking to race at the highest professional level in the U.S. The team also commits to empowering new and existing cyclists in our community by hosting clinics, group rides, and skill-based events for U19 girls, youth riders, and adults. Our most recent clinic in June was covered in the national cycling publication Velo (read about it here ).

Your donations support the team's race & season expenses and cover the costs associated with community events. All team expenses are publicly shared in the team's quarterly newsletters.
