Kay's Animal Shelter, Inc.

We are a 501c3 not for profit animal shelter and have been in business since 1953. We have been in this location and building since 1962 and it was not new when we purchased it. In approx the last eight years we have replaced our roof, sided the building, and replaced our boiler after 20 years. It heats the floors for the dogs in the winter. We have done many repairs over the years but it was time for an overhaul and we REPLACED all the inside kennels. We also had the floors sealcoated and the walls epoxied at the same time. These repairs and replacements ran about $80.000.

We take in animals locally and also rescue a lot of animals from other areas to keep them from being euthanized.  We have been doing rescue trips all over the state for over 20 years. We do these rescue trips averaging about every two weeks and we currently have about 150,000 miles on our van that we use for transport. At this rate we will be needing to purchase another one in the not too distant future.

We spend thousands of dollars on vet bills every month for spay and neuter, vaccinations, medicines, dewormers, etc getting these beautiful animals ready for their forever homes. (Not to mention lights, heat and air conditioning, litter, etc.) We need your funds so we can continue to do this life saving work. Please support us in our rescue efforts.
