Kehilat Sephardim of Ahavat Achim

Kehilat Food Pantry is a Non-Profit Kosher Food Pantry serving the local Queens Community under the oversight of Rabbi Shlomo Nisanov. We operate on an open market concept where clients have the choice of what foods they would like for themselves and their families based on our inventory during each distribution. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, our client needs have increased to over 400 clients daily and over 1,200 clients weekly. 

As a direct result of the pandemic, we have seen a drastic increase in the demand for food, especially among our more vulnerable clients. To meet this need, our pantry is continuously expanding, including recruiting proper management as well as additional volunteers. We have also seen more diversity amongst our clientele due to the rise in food demand across the greater Queens community. However, even though we are a large non-profit, our budget remains that of a small organization and does not meet the ever-growing needs of our company. Any funds received will go towards operational needs such as state-of-the-art weatherproofing to provide weather protection for our volunteers during our daily distribution events.
