KIMMY'S SAFE HAVEN AdoptRescueSave
Hello, my name is Ellie. Kimmy's Safe Haven Rescue saved my life, literally. I was feeling very low, falling into a deeper depression after ending a long 10-year relationship. I found myself alone with many dogs, and my ex was taking them all. I knew I needed grief/loss therapy, but I couldn't bring myself to go back into therapy.
Deciding to move to New Jersey to be with my family, I took my dog with me, my star rescue. She had cancer and she passed away in March. That's when I felt like giving up on life. A very close person in my life suggested I call a rescue and start volunteering. So I did, and that's how I met Kimmy and her rescue.
I can't even begin to express how much healing it has brought me to see how many lives Kimmy has saved by fostering and adopting out animals that have saved people who are on the verge of giving up on life themselves. People from all walks of life. People experiencing drug addiction, mental illness, homelessness, health issues, death/loss issues. People come to us broken and in need and we really help them by giving them the opportunity to foster a broken and abused animal that is also in need. The reunion of two broken entities is healing in itself. Her organization is so multifaceted.
So, the kids get to volunteer and learn how to feed the animals. They learn how to care for kittens and from an early age, they learn how to care for animals and what responsibility means when caring for an animal. They learn that animals are not just toys.
For me, I can honestly say that I would not be here today had Kimmy not taken the time to allow me to volunteer. I not only volunteered, I was given a chance at life. I was loved by her and loved by all the animals. Treated with respect and dignity by everyone that I encountered, especially by her.
Would you help so many animals and so many people? I would just like to ask, even if you could only do $1 a month, $3 a month, $5 a month, $10 a month, your contribution would be a great blessing to us and this charity that is so special to my heart as it really has saved my life and it does save so many animals and people as well. Please check out our website. You will see all the wonderful things that are being done every day.
The animals, before they get adopted out, all the dogs get spayed and neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped and dewormed. Often times, because the animals have been in such deplorable conditions and so abused, we have many medical bills and we will always pay them. That is why donations are imperative. So, we assure you from the bottom of our hearts, whatever you can do, like I said, even a dollar a month, $5 a month, anything, everything adds up.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. All the animals thank you so much because without you, we would not be. Also, Kimberly does take money out of her own pocket and she does contribute to another rescue for children experiencing poverty where they actually buy a cow for them so they can have milk for the rest of the time that the children are growing up. I wanted to mention that, I hope she doesn't get mad at me, but I thought that was important because she's such a giving and loving person.
