King Harbor Youth Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization dedicated to getting kids of all backgrounds out on the water and learning character-building skills, self esteem, teamwork and a respect for the ocean through Sailing. We offer year-round programs that align with our mission, like; Summer Sailing Camp, Fall and Spring Learn-to-Sail classes, Year-Round Opti and High School FJ Race Teams (Redondo, Mira Costa and South High, Torrance), and our New Channels Program.
Your donations will help to support our Opti and FJ Race Teams - providing boats, maintenance of boats, trailers, and defraying costs of participation.
Your generous gifts will also help us to provide opportunities for underserved youth that might not otherwise have the opportunity to get out on the water, via our New Channels Program. We work with a huge family of community-based organizations, taking kids out for a custom on-the-water boating experience in the King Harbor channel and out into the ocean. Sessions range about two hours and include activities such as sailing, power boating and kayaking. Before each session, participants begin with a brief lesson about the activity and safety, and conclude with a group lunch.
