More information about King's Daughter's Ministry, Kona, HI:
The organization is dedicated to Help Raise Funds to Open the First Domestic Violence Transitional Home.
We would provide Psychological and Emotional support to Victims of Domestic Violence; in particular, Women and Children. This support includes providing shelter, legal services, help with restraining orders as well as any other direct services to survivors.
Where it all began:
My name is Helen Vailu'u. I am the founder and CEO of King's Daughter's Ministry, Kona, HI.
After working many years at my local hospital (Kona Community Hospital), I would see the same victims checking into the emergency room. I started volunteering at the local shelter, only to find out, the local shelter has a four month stay then must give up their beds.
With lack of funds and still trying to heal they are left with nowhere to turn only to end up back with the perpetrator.
*Help us make a change by donating a contribution to help purchase a safe transitional home where victims may stay up to a year or more, where they may safely rehabilitate, heal and are provided with resources to rebuild their lives one step at a time.
There is a huge need and urgency for this cause on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Unfortunately, the immediate needs of the people and the decline of revenue, we have not been able to raise the funds needed for this most important domestic violence transitional home.
To further understand our cause and how we come together as a community in the Big Island, please feel free to look more at past articles "West Hawaii Today" or "Big Island Now". You can view our work we have done in the past twenty years.
We The King's Daughter's Ministry, Inc. is a 501(c) organization and have been operating a
thrift store to help raise the funds for this most important home.
All funds are deposited into an account exclusively for this project at, Hawaii Federal Credit Union.
Much Aloha & Many Mahalos!
Thank you, Tammy, for your donation. New goal amount.
