THE KOREAN-AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF TACOMA

Okay guys it’s your girl Steffy and I need you guys more than ever. As most of you know I’m the owner of Tacoma Dog and Cat Grooming and we are a family based business that truly is extended family with all my clients. On Sunday, February 14th our hearts were shattered as we found out that a building fire was started in the back of our complex by some people that were homeless who were just trying to stay warm during the horribly cold weather. This building houses all the electric meters and main breaker boxes and is the source of power for each individual unit. Although our space in the building was not physically effected by the fire it is now without power indefinitely until the building that houses all our main source of electric gets rebuilt and repaired and I am literally devastated. We have lost our main source of income and I literally need my village more now than ever to help save my business.  I rent from a non profit organization called the WA-Tacoma Korean American Association: WATKAA and they too are like family! During the pandemic they are the ones who lowered our rent to almost nothing so that we did not lose our business as we were required to shut down for 4 months during the lock down because of COVID. The only way I can save my business now is to also help them get this fixed! They do not have the money to pay what this is going to cost to fix. I know this first hand. The insurance deductible is $3000 and insurance will only pay for 80% of what needs to be repaired. Plus, it will all have to be upgraded and brought up to code. The wiring was older and the insurance company will not pay for any upgrading as we all know! So, as much as I am not one to ask much for myself I am asking you to please find it in your heart to help by donating so that we can get back to work soon and take care of all my furry kids and their humans.  We desperately do not want to lose our business. The pandemic has already kicked our butts. We simply cannot take another loss like this. I NEED MORE THAN EVER, I really do! I’ve asked my friend Amanda to set this up for me as I had no idea how to. Literally every single penny sent will go to rebuilding so we don’t loose everything we have worked so hard to build. We know it will take awhile to rebuild but knowing they have the money to fund it will get things moving much quicker. Thank you all for loving me and being there for me! Xo Steffy
