We Need Your Help — Now More Than Ever
At Lara’s House, we’re always doing the best we can with what we have. Every day, we receive calls about stray or surrendered animals—and every day, we’re forced to turn many away simply because we don’t have the space.
People often ask us, “What do you need?”
Our answer is always the same: we need adoptions, food, and financial support.
Why We Need Adoptions
We have 53 kennels, but we’re currently housing approximately 96 dogs—plus 30 cats. We’re over capacity, and every adoption means we can save another life. When you adopt, you’re not just giving one animal a home—you’re making room for the next animal in need.
Why We Need Food
Feeding nearly 130 animals daily is a massive effort. We buy our food from Tractor Supply just like everyone else—aside from being tax-exempt, we receive no discounts or subsidies. Every donated bag of food makes a difference.
Why We Need Financial Help
It costs around $10,000 each month to run the shelter. This includes:
Utilities
Payroll for our dedicated kennel staff
Insurance
Food
Emergency medical cases
We don’t receive city, county, or state funding. We rely 100% on donations, adoptions, and fundraisers—from people like you, in the community we work so hard to serve.
We’re at a critical point. We're praying we can continue helping the animals who depend on us in the coming months.
How You Can Help
1. Adopt – Give a dog or cat a loving home.
2. Donate Food – We accept dry or canned dog and cat food daily.
3. Give Financially –
Visit larashouseshelter.com and click Donate.
Select Give Lively to make a one-time or monthly donation.
We’re open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 12 PM for adoptions or in-person donations.
We often say: if even half of our 8,000–10,000 followers donated just $1–$10 a month, we could transform what we do—and save even more lives.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has adopted, donated, or helped in any way. You are the reason we keep going.
With gratitude,
The Lara’s House Staff
