CBNR: Help Us Tell More Social Justice Stories
WHAT: Your generous contributions will fund our coverage of justice issues with CBNR reporters, writers and editors. CBNR reporters are both writers who have experienced injustice and have a unique point of view on our legal system as well as professional journalists who want to cover social justice topics. CBNR editors have years of editing experience and work with all CBNR correspondents to ensure CBNR stories (text, photos, videos) are top-quality journalism.
WHY: There’s never been a more important time to leverage collaborative reporting and build cooperative networks to expand the reach of journalism, deepen access for journalists and transform non-journalists into effective agents of change through storytelling. We want to give those on the margins the tools they need to document their communities and empower them, and prove that doing quality community journalism can be transformative.
HOW: CBNR will publish one story per week, do more special projects like our “We the Immigrants ” series on underreported justice issues and upgrade our digital media presence. For our stories, we will generate originate reporting, analysis, photos, videos, audio and live streaming. The work will be distributed through CBNR’s website, social media channels, newsletter and media partnerships.
We hope that people who value great journalism as much as we do will provide the funding boost that is needed to advance our work. With your support, CBNR correspondents will be at the forefront of media coverage on justice issues. Please give so CBNR can tell the stories that need to be told for America and the rest of the world to create change.
