HELP! The Doctor Spot Is Down!
"Recently, an electrical fire took The Doctor Spot out of commission. While the "Box" containing the actual clinic escaped damage, the truck's cab and engine compartment are damaged beyond repair."
We are the Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Medical Assistant, and Driver for The Doctor Spot, a mobile pediatric clinic. We provide free, accessible healthcare for children in Dallas County's most medically underserved neighborhoods. We travel to where the children are.
Until The Doctor Spot is back up and running, thousands of uninsured children face the very real possibility of having to miss school, end up in the ER, or battle an illness that could have been avoided with accessible or preventive medical care. Visit our website for more information on the services we provide www.thedoctorspot.org.
To get The Doctor Spot back in service will cost approximately $54,000. We've set up a GoFundMe page and hope you will give to this important cause. Please pass this appeal along to your family and friends. With more than 122,000 uninsured children in Dallas County, it's critical to get The Doctor Spot back up and running as soon as possible.
FYI - We have insurance, but a settlement can take many weeks or even months. Rest assured, if the insurance claim is settled, any excess funds received will be used for the stated purpose above, or to assist in the commission of a second mobile clinic or for ongoing operations, all of which will enable us to provide free services to thousands more children each year. Any size donation will help!
Thank you!
