Vandalism recovery funds
Johnston Community,
We are devastated to report that earlier this week our beloved Johnston Little League facility fell victim to a senseless act of vandalism and burglary. Both of our storage sheds were broken into and the garage door on our larger shed was destroyed when those involved ran our field tractor through the garage door. Our four golf carts we use around Lew Clarkson Park were all severely damaged and our Gator utility vehicle and other items were stolen. In the wake of this destructive event, we're reaching out to our community for support in rebuilding and replacing what we have lost.
As many of you know, our facility isn't just a place where kids play baseball. It's a symbol of the unity, teamwork and spirit that makes our Johnston community such a special place. Generations of kids have honed their skills at our fields and have formed lifelong friendships and memories that extend far beyond the diamond. While equipment has been stolen, property damaged, and the sense of safety and security that we feel at our fields compromised, we refuse to let this setback define us. With your assistance, we can help restore our facility, improve our security and rise above this difficult setback.
Your donation will go directly towards repairing the damage, replacing stolen equipment and implementing security measures to aid us in preventing future incidents.
Finally and most importantly, your donation will help ease the work done by the dedicated volunteers who are essential to making our league what it is as they truly are the heartbeat of Johnston Little League. They dedicate countless hours on a daily basis to ensure that our coaches and players have an enjoyable environment to learn and grow through the game of baseball, and that our parents, grandparents and supporters have an equally enjoyable experience following their children and grandchildren’s growth. Our volunteers do so much to make sure we continue to provide you with a league you will be proud of.
