Help Kirkland Softball-World Series
**UPDATE** These young ladies won the West Regionals and are headed to Portland, OR! Please help support them and their families as they head on the road and live out of suitcases for another 8 days! This is the experience of a lifetime for them and we appreciate any help- financial, emotional, or spreading the word- that you can provide.
It takes a village to raise a great fastpitch softball player! Volunteer coaches herding a gaggle of girls through Tee Ball games up to training young ladies how to crush line drives and sling 50 mph screwballs through the strike zone. Volunteer umpires providing a consistent and fair environment of competition to teach the proper rules of the game. And of course, moms and dads spending 1000’s of hours in travel time getting their daughters to and from games, practices, and private lessons, along with 1000’s of cookies and juice boxes! All of this dedication has helped our young ladies to win the 2018 Little League All-Stars Washington State Championships and an invitation to West Regionals in San Bernardino, CA.
Now we’re asking for help from our larger village- friends, family, businesses and residents of the City of Kirkland along with fans of girls’ youth sports and fastpitch softball. Little League International provides flights and hotels for players and coaches. Kirkland American and Kirkland National Little Leagues are providing over $5000 to cover logistical needs for the team. We are seeking donations to help these families with travel costs to SoCal to cheer their daughters on to victory and hopefully a spot in the LLWS in August.
Having just spent 10 days in Vancouver, WA battling to win the State Championships, another long trip out of town less than two weeks later is straining families. Donations made to this campaign will be pooled together to provide assistance for player family travel needs and team expenses and are tax deductible to boot. Help us help these families make the trip to San Bernadino so that they can be there as their daughters have the experience of a lifetime!
