Help the LUX bring 10 new murals to University Place through the Emerge LNK: Mural + Street Art Festival!

This September, the LUX is bringing art to the streets through the "Emerge LNK: Mural + Street Art Festival." In order to fully realize this project, we need your support! We are hoping to raise $8,000 in community support to help offset various expenses including – wall prep, painting materials, artist transportation and fees, festival materials, marketing costs and more. Any amount, small or large, will help create a long-lasting impact on a neighborhood many of us call home. Together through this project, we can kick-start efforts towards designating University Place as an Arts District within our community – creating a sense of vibrancy, optimism, and exploration for years to come.

As a token of our gratitude, all donations of $40 or more will receive an Emerge LNK t-shirt (featuring the graphic above)! For local donors, your t-shirt will be available for pickup at the LUX Center for the Arts by August 10th. For those out-of-state, we will reach out to coordinate shipping.

What is Emerge LNK?
Emerge LNK: Mural and Street Art Festival is a mural project hosted by LUX Center for the Arts that seeks to bring joy to our community and uplift small businesses as we emerge from Covid-19 together.

Emerge LNK: intends to promote North Lincoln small businesses by making the streets more walkable and drawing positive attention to the neighborhood – in the hopes of making University Place a destination within Lincoln, NE. Through the investment of ten murals, local businesses will experience more foot traffic and increased sales following hardships caused by the pandemic.

The project will elevate the voices of regional, national, and international artists through a mix of temporary and permanent mural installations that will be unveiled on September 3rd, 2021. By amplifying a myriad of artistic voices, these murals aim to engage the community and inspire a healthy outlet of expression for youth and adults. Emerge LNK will also inspire the exploration and appreciation for street art through a Street Art Family Festival on Saturday, September 4th, 2021 and Emerge + Splurge community shopping event.
